Discover the Charm of "Ama no Ukihashi"

Discover the Charm of "Ama no Ukihashi"

"Ama no Ukihashi" is SHOUROTEI's new flagship suite, created by combining the two rooms former "Seikoken" and "Ukihashi".
While preserving the beauty of traditional Japanese sukiya architecture, the suite blends modern comfort into an exceptional contemporary retreat.

Respecting the elegance and customs of classic Japanese design, new elements have been thoughtfully incorporated to create a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces.
A semi-open-air bath and spacious wooden terrace enhance harmony with nature.

The room also combines traditional tatami-style living with modern chair seating, carefully balanced in height and design to create a visually calming and comfortable atmosphere.

Experience a new style of Japanese luxury that embraces both the timeless beauty of sukiya architecture and the comforts of modern living.

A Comfortable Living Space
Where Traditional Beauty Meets Modern Design

A Comfortable Living SpaceWhere Traditional Beauty Meets Modern Design

The wooden flooring living room preserves traditional Japanese design elements while incorporating modern features such as custom cabinetry, a minibar, and a large flat-screen TV.

A calming design using Kurobe cedar and a lower ceiling creates a unique sense of warmth and relaxation away from everyday life.
The balance between open spaces and more intimate enclosed areas creates a harmonious atmosphere that enhances the beauty of each element.

An Open Harmony of Tradition and Modern Design

An Open Harmony of Tradition and Modern Design

While preserving traditional elements such as the tokonoma alcove and ceiling details, the room features a modern layout with an entrance leading into the bedroom.
The veranda facing the garden is designed with four sliding yukimi shoji screens that fully retract into the walls, creating an impressive 4-meter-wide open view of Amanohashidate’s beautiful natural scenery.

By incorporating a rare "full-open" architectural concept—difficult to achieve in traditional Japanese design—the space creates a seamless connection between the tatami room and the adjacent living area.

The Expression of Art and Serenity

The Expression of Art and Serenity

To create a truly restful atmosphere, the bedroom was designed without windows and enhanced with soft indirect lighting and premium SIMMONS mattresses for exceptional comfort and sleep quality.

A highlight of the room is the Japanese painting by rising Kyoto artist Misuzu Omura.
Inspired by Amanohashidate, the artwork depicts a beautiful world of blue tones, evoking a connection between nature and the divine.
Displayed above the bed, it adds artistic depth and tranquility to the peaceful bedroom space.

A Luxurious Semi-Open Bath Space in Harmony with Nature

A Luxurious Semi-Open Bath Space in Harmony with Nature

The bathroom and vanity area of "Ama no Ukihashi" were created by renovating the former guest room "Seikoken" into a luxurious bathing space.
Designed to allow guests to bathe while feeling connected to nature—without the need to close the blinds—this space became the model for SHOUROTEI’s new bath design concept.

Large windows open toward the garden, creating the openness of a semi-open-air bath and offering a truly relaxing experience immersed in nature.
